BUSINESS UNIT MANAGER, NUCLEAR OPERATIONS
We have been retained by our client to identify and recruit a Business
Unit Manager. Our client delivers advanced nuclear innovations and
manufacturing capabilities to commercial and U.S. Government customers;
provides management and operating services to the U.S. Department of
Energy (DOE) and the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA);
provides environmental remediation and decontamination and
decommissioning services; and operates radiochemistry and environmental
laboratories. This position is primarily responsible for starting
up and leading a
new business unit in Operations and Maintenance services for clients in
the Federal Government.
This position will be located in the Eastern United States.
The primary responsibilities of this position include:
- Expand
currently existing services and capabilities into DOD and CIA clients.
These services include site support, operations and management,
logistics, chemical demilitarization, nuclear advisory and technical
support services, and environmental health and safety assurance, among
others.
- Maintain operational responsibility for relationships with multiple client organizations.
- Provide leadership to project teams through effective
communications that provides clear direction and demonstrates
confidence, enthusiasm, and innovative thinking in meeting project
challenges
- Provide critical input during prime contract negotiations and
executing all aspects of the total project in accordance with contract
requirements.
- Oversee and manage direction of an execution framework to
ensure the quality, value, timeliness, and profitability of the total
project execution.
Key skills and experience that our client desires include:
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or Nuclear Engineering
- 15-20
years of management experience providing Operations and Maintenance
services to clients in the DOD, DOE, FAA and other Federal groups.
- Demonstrated success in project execution, client
relationship, profitability, and experience managing staff
organizations and administrating personnel.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
required including the ability to frame complex issues to achieve
recognition and/or concurrence by management or other functional
organizations.
- Strong combination of conceptual knowledge and hands
on skills to enable both direct support to proposals and projects, and
performance of oversight assessments of existing projects and
organizations.
