BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER, EUROPE
We have been retained by our client to identify and recruit a Business Development Manager, Europe, for its international Oil & Gas division. The company is a privately-held, global provider of engineering, construction, and project management services in the areas of energy, transportation, communications, mining, oil and gas, and government services.
This position resides within our client's Oil, Gas & Chemicals (OG&C) division, a multi-billion dollar, global business unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and developing new EPC projects within the European, Northern Africa and Middle Eastern OG&C markets, including strategic market development, methods of penetration, and program implementation.
This position will be located in Europe.
The primary responsibilities of this position include:
- Develop and win large scale Oil, Gas and Chemicals EPC projects in Europe, Northern Africa, and the Middle East.
- Provide account management services to several key accounts with the expectation of developing major EPC projects.
- Identify opportunities, evaluate them and create a plan to pursue and win targeted EPC projects across Europe, Northern Africa and sections of the Middle East.
- Lead effort in identifying and developing new major opportunities in the Oil & Gas sector.
- Influence key stakeholders to position the company as the preferred supplier of EPC services.
- Develop strategy and direct preparation of proposals and presentations to win new business opportunities.
- Coordinate with functional departments in formulating strategy and lead proposal preparation and negotiations with customers to ensure business objectives are met.
- Participate in the commercial negotiation of contracts and cooperate with Legal and Operations professionals to facilitate the commercial close of new awards.
Key skills and experience that our client desires include:
- Proven expertise and a successful track record with the ability to attract new business and penetrate key clients in international markets, with specific emphasis on Europe, Northern Africa and sections of the Middle East.
- Must possess an extensive network of senior level client contacts in the oil & gas industry within the target market and geography.
- Must have knowledge of, and relationships with, key decision makers and purchasers of EPC services in the upstream onshore, midstream and downstream oil, gas and chemicals market.
- Twenty plus years of experience in the oil, gas and chemicals Engineering, Procurement and Construction market.
- Solid sales experience with knowledge of current industry technology, market trends, and the competitive landscape within the oil & gas industry.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and organize resources.
- Must be comfortable managing the sales process at various stages of development.
- Knowledge in preparation of capture plans, pre-positioning, target, pursuit and capture of strategic target.
- Must be willing to travel to international locations as required.
- B.S. in Engineering (or relevant degree)
- M.B.A. (preferred)
