DIRECTOR, INTERNATIONAL COMMERCIAL NUCLEAR BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

We have been retained by our client to identify and recruit a Director of International Commercial Nuclear Business Development.  Our client is a privately-held, global provider of engineering, construction, and project management services in the areas of energy, transportation, communications, mining, oil and gas, and government services.  Engineering News-Record (ENR)has named it the Top U.S. Construction Contractor for the past 11 years.

This position resides within a multi-billion dollar, global business unit.  The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and recommending prospective new work within the international nuclear market including strategic market development, methods of penetration, and program implementation.

This position will be located in the United States, United Kingdom or Western Europe.

The primary responsibilities of this position include:

  • Identify opportunities, evaluate them and create a plan to pursue and win targeted projects across Europe and the Middle East.
  • Lead effort in identifying and developing new major opportunities in the nuclear sector.
  • Influence key stakeholders to position the company as the preferred supplier of nuclear services.
  • Develop strategy and support preparation of proposals and presentations to win new business opportunities.
  • Oversee and manage project development for large nuclear projects.
  • Coordinate with functional departments in formulating strategy and support negotiations with customers to ensure business objectives are met.
  • Manage marketing and business development efforts simultaneously.
  • Build and manage relationships with customers, potential teaming partners, and competitor organizations.
  • Maintain and grow existing client relationships via networking and industry conferences.
  • Generate revenue by leading sales outreach activities including opportunity identification, pipeline management, evaluation, negotiations, and deal execution.
  • Identify and evaluate technical, strategic and commercial opportunities.
  • Evaluate contract implications and risks, development of estimates, target pricing and preparation of proposals.
  • Lead and contribute to strategy review and implementation.

Key skills and experience that our client desires include:

  • Proven expertise and a successful track record with the ability to attract new business and penetrate international markets, with specific emphasis on Western Europe and the Middle East.
  • Must possess a strong network of senior level client contacts in the nuclear field.
  • Comprehensive experience in sales and knowledge of current nuclear industry technology.
  • Well-developed understanding of marketing, business development, and targeted sales strategies.
  • Must be knowledgeable regarding nuclear regulatory requirements and nuclear liability issues.
  • Knowledge in preparation of capture plans, pre-positioning, target, pursuit and capture of strategic target.
  • Must be willing to travel to international locations as required.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Technical degree preferred.
