DIRECTOR, HUMAN RESOURCES

We have been retained by our client to identify and recruit a Director, Human Resources.  Our client is a $100 million-dollar professional services company, with two (2) operating subsidiaries, offering environmental science and management consulting services to the real estate development, energy & utilities, industrial, and infrastructure market segments.  The successful candidate will manage all company-wide human resource functions and implement “best in class” programs across the organization.  This position requires a well-rounded human resources executive with management experience and leadership skills.

This position will be located in the United States.

The primary responsibilities of this position include:

  • Provide direction and directives to the department staff and outside consultants in the performance of their duties, establishing work priorities, and in achieving management initiatives.
  • Streamline business processes to maximize efficiency and effectiveness within corporate human resources.
  • Create and execute corporate strategic recruitment and selection plans.
  • Coordinate company equal employment opportunity programs to achieve diversity goals.
  • Create company strategic training and organizational development plan to meet personal, professional, and organizational needs of company employees.
  • Oversee the design and development of compensation strategy and programs.
  • Direct the administration of benefit programs to include: health, retirement, death, disability, and unemployment.
  • Evaluate and recommend modifications and improvements to employee benefits programs.
  • Evaluate procedures and technology solutions to improve human resources data management.
  • Recommend and maintain an organizational structure and staffing levels to accomplish company goals and objectives.

Key skills and experience that our client desires include:

  • Astute business acumen and sophisticated understanding of human resources in the corporate environment.
  • Minimum of 15-20 years experience in organizations (or divisions of organizations) with a minimum   of $6 billion in annual revenue.
  • Experience in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.
  • Proven ability to assess, manage, and develop departmental staff and implement training and development programs.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of human resources process skills and requirements such as EEO, employee benefits, salary administration, organizational development, training, and recruiting/retention.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality and the judgment/ability to coach and mentor human resources personnel on requirements for strict confidentiality of HR matters.
  • Excellent work ethic and communication (written and verbal) skills with the ability to interface with diverse groups of corporate executives and senior management.
  • Ability to assess a corporate environment, identify areas for reorganization, strategize to achieve corporate goals, and provide execution and management.
  • B.S. in Business Administration (or related degree)
  • MBA (desirable)
  • SHRM Certification (desirable)
