DIRECTOR OF NUCLEAR QUALITY ASSURANCE
We have been retained by our client to identify and recruit a Director
of Nuclear Quality Assurance. Our Client is an extremely successful
engineering, procurement, and construction management firm with a
global presence. It is highly regarded, and is consistently listed as a
top contractor by Engineering News Record. Our Client has entered
into a joint venture to act as the Program Manager on the construction
of new nuclear power plants. The Director of
Quality Assurance will be responsible for ensuring quality from
engineering and design phases through construction to operation and
maintenance of the new plants.
This position will be located in the Middle East.
The primary responsibilities of this position include:
- Evaluate,
plan, implement, and coordinate corporate quality programs, policies,
and procedures to ensure excellence in transition from construction to
operations.
- Develop and maintain overall quality assurance programs in compliance with governmental and professional statutes and standards.
- Manage, implement and administer engineering policies and
practices to improve operation performance and cost reduction in the
areas of production methods, equipment layouts, material handling,
manpower, and equipment and material utilization.
- Establish quality management direction for Quality Managers
including inspection priorities, coordinating, and reporting schedules.
- Initiate corrective action systems to ensure compliance with nuclear industry rules and regulations.
Key skills and experience that our client desires include:
- 20+ years experience overseeing quality programs for nuclear power in either a construction or utility setting.
- Experience overseeing quality at a grassroots power plant is ideal.
- Experience implementing NQA-1 at a nuclear plant.
- Willing to relocate to the Middle East.
- Previous successful experience managing staff organizations and administrating personnel.
- Excellent written and oral skills, and experience with presentations.
- Excellent relationship management skills and a team player.
- Experience working within a highly regulated environment (safety, quality, technical codes and other standards and regulations)
- Lean Six Sigma experience.
- Experience in defense contracting and/or nuclear quality assurance programs
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business.
- MBA is desirable.
