PROGRAM DIRECTOR, MAJOR PROJECTS

We have been retained by our client to identify and recruit a Program Director, Major Projects. The Company is a well-respected, international, and prestigious engineering, procurement, and construction firm organized into three divisions: civil infrastructure, federal, and industrial. The civil infrastructure group designs and builds water and wastewater operations; builds and manages airports, highways, and other infrastructure; and offers city management services. The Program Director is a high profile position providing oversight and management on behalf of client organizations on marquee heavy civil and civil infrastructure projects worldwide.  

• The Program Director is responsible for overall management of several current and major international construction projects.
• Responsible for the full performance of all design and construction activities under his/her direction.
• Accountable to executive management for successful operations of assigned program to include safety, project performance, profitability, scope growth, corporate compliance, project support, problem resolution, and achieving client goals.
• Ensures the effective management of major heavy civil programs resulting in projects being completed on time and within budget.
• Provides leadership to project teams through effective communications that provides clear direction and demonstrates confidence, enthusiasm, and innovative thinking in meeting project challenges.
• Provides insight and recommendations on strategy, policies, best practices, and other operational issues.
• Provides critical input during prime contract negotiations and executing all aspects of the total project in accordance with contract requirements.
• Develops opportunities with new clients through, partnering with the client's sales organization, participating in the proposal process and networking in the industry.
• Maintains operational responsibility for relationships with multiple client and contractor organizations.

• Strong commitment to safety and success in managing programs that have a zero accident rates.
• Strong program-level P&L management skills with a successful track record delivering billion-dollar, multi-year heavy civil or civil infrastructure programs on time and on budget.
• Knowledge of various contract vehicles and project delivery methods
• International experience.
• Experience in identifying and winning PM/CM opportunities and preparation of proposals.
• Experience with the bidding process, including strategy, proposal work, pricing, and presentation.
• Record of acting as a high-energy leader with excellent business sense and knowledge of how to achieve project excellence on major civil projects.
• BS. Engineering or Construction Management
• Certification in project management desirable
