PROJECT CONTROLS MANAGER
We have been retained by our client to identify and recruit a Project
Controls Manager. Our Client is the largest EPC firm in the United
States with annual revenues of approximately $27 billion dollars. The
Project Controls Manager position will be in the Power Business Unit,
which is a multi-billion dollar international division. The successful
candidate will direct cost estimating, cost analysis, schedule
development and monitoring, impact identification, and recovery plan
development activities for large industrial projects.
This position will be located at the project site.
The primary responsibilities of this position include:
- Direct all project controls functions on large projects in the Power market sector.
- Direct all cost engineering, planning, and scheduling functions, and make ongoing recommendations for improvement.
- Interface with other project team members including
Engineering, Construction, Procurement, and Contracts to facilitate
compliance with project execution strategy and objectives.
- Evaluate projects at each state of development, taking in to
consideration account project team and client/contractual obligations.
- Plan anticipated staffing requirements for assigned projects.
- Review contract drafts to ensure they meet project controls
requirements and coordinate development of data in support of contract
negotiations.
- Participate in the training of personnel and in the implementation of training programs.
Key skills and experience that our client desires include:
- B.S. Engineering or Construction Management (or experience equivalent)
- Minimum of 10 years of project controls experience on large ($1.5B+) industrial projects in the Power industry.
- Significant
experience in project controls, commercial operations, and/or prime
contract experience with emphasis on project controls.
- Advanced knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, and construction projects
- Exceptional
communication skills with the ability to develop and present management
reports in oral, written, and graphic format.
- Must be able to manage conflict and provide resolution using
a combination of technical skills, leadership, teamwork, and people
management skills.
