TECHNICAL SALES & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

We have been retained by our client to identify and recruit a Technical Sales & Business Development Manager.  Our client is an experienced leader in remedial construction field solutions, providing services to the commercial sector.  With over $140 million dollars in annual revenue and more than 400 associates, the company is ranked by Engineering News Record among the top 20 Hazardous Waste Contractors in the United States. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for business development activities associated with additional Gulf Coast penetration as well as specific service line development outside of the region.  This position will identify key decision makers, contribute to the overall business development strategy, participate in risk evaluation, and evaluate strategic opportunities which successfully leverage the company's capabilities within the remediation contracting sector. 

The location for this position is Open - United States.

The primary responsibilities of this position include:

  • Identify and develop strategies to capture new business on an enterprise-wide basis, with responsibilities to include business development, strategic initiatives, and sales.
  • Develop and execute business strategies and initiatives to expand environmental remediation, geotechnical, and/or water resources (dredging, sediment remediation, ecologic restoration) construction services to new clients.
  • Formulate and present proactive, strategic approaches to the proposal development process which leverage the company's service line and regional capabilities.
  • Develop enterprise-wide agreements with key strategic clients to develop new relationships and create strategic alliances.
  • Successfully leverage key, existing, private sector client relationships in the company's key industries of sediment removal and water resources, to result in new business opportunities.
  • Expand the market penetration of the Company's services in the commercial market sector by attracting new clients and expanding business within the current client base.
  • Achieve sales objectives on an annual basis.
  • Build, grow and maintain an active list of large and/or strategic new prospects that will ensure the continuous growth of clients.
  • Develop strategic sales plans for each new prospect as well as internal client prospects.
  • Establish and develop strategic long-term relationships with current clients, new clients and prospective teaming partners.

Key skills and experience that our client desires include:

  • Minimum 15 years of environmental remediation construction experience, with at least 10 years of sales and business development experience in a technical capacity.
  • Proven track record of business development experience with the ability to attract new business and transition clients over to the Company.
  • Experience working effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment to identify and capture new business in remediation, geoconstruction, or sediment remediation services for private-sector clients.
  • Technical experience and expertise with large-scale remediation construction projects and/or geoconstruction services, sediment removal, and water resources services.
  • Experience developing enterprise-wide relationships with key decision makers and clients.
  • Business savvy with proven skills to listen to client needs and identify viable,revenue producing, future projects. 
  • Skilled at cultivating and maintaining industry contacts and other new business resources.
  • Team builder/player - well-developed interpersonal skills for team building and developing client relationships.
  • B.S. in Geology, Engineering, or Environmental Science (or related degree)
  • Master's Degree in Geology, Engineering, or Environmental Science (preferred)
